Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalimantan) - The Banjarmasin Office of Archives, Libraries and Documentation plans to build a digital library.
Head of Archives, Libraries and Documentation Akhmad Husaini revealed it when Mayor Ibnu Sina reviewing the readiness of the local government regional organization (OPD) in serving the community, Monday (23/01).
Mayor and Akhmad Husaini were monitoring to some places in the office located at Jalan Jafri Zam-Zam, Central Banjarmasin.
Akhmad Husaini explained next year he plans to make the land now occupied by the Office into a digital library and archives depot at the same.
"The position of the office complex very close to the students, so we want to make this office as a digital library and depots," he said.
He explained that the digital library is a contemporary technology based library.
This breakthrough, he explained again, to make people especially the students love to read.
"With this digital library all walks of life can later access the books available at the library to come directly or simply by accessing it from the android," he explained.
For funding, Akhmad Husaini said he will pursue funds from state and local budgets.
Meanwhile, Mayor highly appreciated and supported the plan.(Humpro-bjm)
