HST to Builds Modern Agribusiness Market

Barabai, South Kalimantan, 22/1 (AntaranewsKalsel) - The government of Central Hulu Sungai (HST) to immediately build grandest agribusiness market in the province to support farmers in distributing their products directly to market without going through middlemen.

Regent HST H Abdul Latif here on Sunday said the development of modern agribusiness market which is planned with complete supporting facilities will begin this year.

"I with HST Police Chief Adjunct Senior Commissioner (AKBP) Mugi Sekar Jaya and the Military District Commander (Dandim) 1002 Barabai Lt. Col. Dodit Heri Setiawan have visited the Baru Market (planned to be agribusiness market) in Keramat Barabai, some time ago," he said.

The visit was to ensure the modern agribusiness market development plan, which will soon begin it construction.

"We will combine the programs of old government with the new government and the construction of modern market will be the priority," he said.

According to him, the market to build with objection to restructure the market to look neat, clean, beautiful and convenient both for traders and buyers.

All traders will be accommodated in the agribusiness market, including traders of agricultural products, chicken traders, fresh fish, to vegetables.

The market will also be equipped with various facilities that will make traders and buyers feel comfortable and secure in their transaction.

"I hope, the community also participate in helping this government program, since the program is not solely to generate income, but to provide a comfortable place for traders and buyers," he said.

Central Hulu Sungai in South Kalimantan was selected as a regional trade center in Banua Anam (an upstream area consist of six districts), which is supported with strategic location in  the middle among other five districts.
