The Ministry of Transportation had listed Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan, as one of 100 best cities in managing transportation in Indonesia in 2024, said Deputy Mayor H Arifin Noor.
He said that for this achievement the city government was awarded Wahana Tata Nugraha (WTN) by the Ministry of Transportation.
"I represent Banjarmasin City Government to receive the award directly from Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi in Jakarta," he said here on Sunday.

This award, he said, is given by the central government through the Ministry of Transportation to the province, city and district that have managed their transportation and facilities well.
"This award is given every two years," he said.
The City of Banjarmasin, Arifin acknowledged, had actually received similar award in 2017 and 2019.
"This award becomes an encouragement for the development and strengthening modes of transportation and traffic in the city to become better and more orderly," he pointed out.
He hopes Banjarmasin will be able to maintain the achievement of orderly transportation.
"Must maintain what we have achieved, and this appreciation is expected to encourage the city government to better develop the transportation system toward the Golden Indonesia 2045," he said.
The Banjarmasin City has its own uniqueness in managing modes of transportation, considering its condition as the City of a Thousand Rivers. It not only manages transportation on land, but also on rivers.
