Pelaihari, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - The Tanah Laut Police together with Public Order Agency raided 88 illegal gold mining site in the Sub-district of Tambang Ulang and Bajuin.
     

"A total of 88 illegal gold mining sites are disciplined by combined team in the two sub-districts," said Police Chief AKBP Sentot Edi in Pelaihari, Thursday.
     
According to him, 88 locations of illegal gold mines were 25 in the village of Martadah, 13 locations in Riam Kinang Hamlet, and 50 locations in the Bajuin.
     
But the joint team could not find any miners, since they firstly escaped from the mine site, before the raid.
     
Prior to curb illegal gold mine, a joint team firstly disseminating prohibition on mining without a permit in the Tanah Laut.

He explained that the presence of illegal gold mining activities in the two sub-districts are not related to allegations of local law enforcer to protect behind.
     
The illegal gold mining activities, said Police Chief, also did not find any investors who play.

Based on the investigation has been developed by criminal investigation police, most of the miners are from outside Tanah Laut.

Police chief said role of communities and government to anticipate illegal gold mining in the district is indispensable.

"Until now, Tanah Laut district police still conduct an investigation into the illegal gold mining activities in the two sub-districts," he said.
