Kandangan, South Kalimantan, (Antaranews Kalsel) - South Hulu Sungai (HSS), South Kalimantan, is still in a shortage of elementary school teachers (SD) primarily for classroom teachers as many as 420.


"Lack of elementary school teachers are primarily for classroom teachers," said Acting Head of the HSS Education Agency Yusperi in Kandangan, Friday.

Data from the agency showed, shortage of teachers especially with the status of State Civil Apparatus (ASN) for SD, almost evenly in some sub-districts, particularly for classroom teachers.

Currently the number of ASN teachers for state elementary school (SDN) as many as 1,842 with the details, 226 school principals, 194 religious education teachers, 151 health and physical or gym class teachers, and 1,271 classroom teachers.

While the total study rooms (Rombel) for SDN level now as many as 1,498 rooms and the total number of SDN inHSS as many as 244.

"From the data at this time we we still lack of 420 teachers to meet the needs of teachers in this area," he said.

He detailed shortage of 420 teachers, includesreligious teachers as many as 50, gym teachers 93, and 227 classroom teachers.

Yusperi hopes that by 2017 there will be a recruitment of ASN to meet the shortage of teachers, especially for schools in remote areas.
