Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - PT Pelindo III Banjarmasin added more loading and unloading facilities with three Rubber Tired Gatry (RTG), which will begin operation in mid November 2016.
General Manager of PT Pelindo III Banjarmasin Hengki Jajang Herasmana here Wednesday said the addition of these three RTGs will improve the service of port services.
Three RTGs, which arrived in Banjarmasin port from Tanjung Mas Semarang in early November, are now standing upright in the container dock Banjarmasin port.
This three RTGs, each with a capacity of transport 25 boxes/hour will add 11 units have been before. In 2017 will come again four other RTGs, so the total RTG owned by Banjarmasin port will reach 18 units.
"Ideally 16 units are sufficient to serve the activities of loading and unloading in the port of Banjarmasin today. So the two units will be reserved for a replacement, if at any RTG damaged in the middle of the job, so it will suppress the delay of work that could have implications for the cost," he said.
