State oil and gas company PT Pertamina showcased green energy innovation at the 2024 Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) as part of an effort to support the energy transition program.
In a statement received here on Thursday, vice president, corporate communications, Pertamina, Fadjar Djoko Santoso, said that Pertamina is continuing to demonstrate its commitment to the energy transition, including through the use of gas fuel.
At the IIMS, Pertamina set up a booth themed "green and performance."
"At this booth, Pertamina displays taxi cars that use gas fuel as part of efforts to support the energy transition. The company also demonstrated the concept of battery-swapping charging station, as part of Pertamina's energy transition program," Santoso informed.
Pertamina also displayed high-quality products that use fossil fuels and help ensure energy security at the IIMS.
The company is encouraging the development of new renewable energy and playing a role in the green industry.
"The company is committed to being a pioneer in realizing environmentally friendly energy. Pertamina hopes that its presence at IIMS 2024 can make a positive contribution to automotive industry development and increase awareness about the energy transition in Indonesia," he said.
President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) opened IIMS 2024 at the Jakarta International Expo (JIExpo) on Thursday. The exhibition will be held until February 25, 2024.
According to President Widodo, electric-powered vehicles are the future of the Indonesian automotive industry since the country has a huge supply of production raw materials.
"I see many electric cars being showcased. I think electric cars are the future of Indonesian automotive (industry) as we have nickel and other raw materials," he said.
