Chairman of the Tanah Bumbu District All-Indonesia Football Association (PSSI) Muhammad Syaripuddin expected his fostered players to be selected in the Indonesia's national team squad.

"We have been representing South Kalimantan at the national events, in the future we hope Tanah Bumbu footballers will be able to enter Indonesian national team squad," M Syaripuddin, who is familiarly known as Bang Dhin, pointed out, Sunday.

Bang Dhin, who is Deputy Speaker of South Kalimantan Legislative Council (DPRD), said he was proud that two local club (SSB) players assisted by the PSSI District Association received the honor to represent the province in the U-15 and U-17 Soeratin Cup competitions.

The two players are Ahyar Maulana for U-15 and Abd Basit for U-17.

Abd Basit from Muara Ujung Village, is a high school SMAN 1 Kusan Hilir student. Both Abd Basit and Ahyar Maulana had studied at SDN Muara Pagatan and MTs DDI Muara Pagatan.

This success was thanks to the routine coaching by SSB fostered by Tanah Bumbu PSSI, and cannot be separated from the attention of Bang Dhin as chairman of the district association.

"Bumi Bersujud" (Tanah Bumbu's nickname) has succeeded in catapulting several young players to the national level competitions to represent South Kalimantan in various age category events.

These included Gala siswa Indonesia (GSI) U-14 (2019), Elite Pro Academy (EPA) U-16, EPA U18, EPA U-20 with PS Barito Putera (2021, 2022, 2023), Regional Sports Week (Popwil) 2023 and South Kalimantan Pre-PON (2023).

"Then early 2024, two local club/SSB players coached by PSSI again had the honor of representing South Kalimantan in the Piala Soeratin U-17 on behalf of Abd. Basit and U-15 Ahyar Maulana," said Bang Dhin.
