Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Station Class I Banjarbaru urged people in South Kalimantan wary of strong winds in the transitional period of the season as it is now.

"We are still in transition of dry season to rainy season, so the potential of strong winds are quite large," said Head of Climatology Station (BMKG) Banjarbaru Goeroeh Tjiptanto, Thursday.

He said the period of the transitional seasons, either dry season to rainy or vice versa, is quite dangerous that the public should be vigilant.

He said the area could potentially bring strong winds spread to almost all districts and cities in South Kalimantan, so people are suggested to be alert at all times.

"The whole region of South Kalimantan potentially arise strong winds, especially the broad expanse of open areas like in paddy fields less of trees," he said.

According to him, the emergence of strong winds difficult to predict, because at any moment could arise and relatively in short duration, but the impact can be destructive path it passes.

"The emergence of strong winds can not be predicted and even though its duration is not too long but can destroy anything along the path trajectory of the strong wind," he said.
