Tanjung, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - The Tabalong Council Assembly (DPRD) recognized Chinese cement company PT Conch South Kalimantan violated the rules, ranging from environmental permits, encroachment of forest areas, till employment.


Chairman of DPRD'S Conch Special Committee Kusmadi Uwis delived this in Tanjung on Thursday after a hearing with the police and relevant agencies, such as Forestry and Plantation Agency (Dishutbun), Social and Manpower Agency (Dinsosnaker) and Energy and Mineral Resources Agency (Dinas ESDM).

"From the results of direct observation to the plant site and the mine owned by PT Conch and its sub-contractor PT Eternal Richway it proved true many rules have been violated by the Chinese investor. Therefore, the committee will submit a recommendation to the central government to be followed-up," said Uwis.

The same thing was said by other member of the special committee, Jurni, it did not want to stop the company's operation, but only to remind PT Conch to obey the rules. One of which not to mine outside the forest area.

"When we were about to review the location of the limestone quarry owned by PT Eternal Richway we got complicated and
eventually with the South Kalimantan Forest Agency and BPKH Region V Banjarbaru we proved that investor is mining outside the use permit forest area, "explains Jurni.

Meanwhile, some related working Unit (SKPD) also expressed some violations have been done by Conch as well as its sub-contractor.

Head of Mineral and Coal Mining of Tabalong EMR Sofiansyah said PT Conch upt tp now has no mining technical chief while raw material for making cement supplied from illegal companies.

"Many obligation of PT Conch and subcontractors have not been implemented, while the supply of raw materials such as coal, limestone, and sand from illegal enterprise," said Sofiansyah.

The special committee is said to draw up a recommendation to the Central Government, one of which the Ministry of Environment and Forests, not to give additional use permit before the obligations undertaken.

While Head of Forestry and Plantation Agency Aberani Aberar supported it considering PT Conch obligations to 5.5 hectares of forest area lend use given to it has not been implemented, such as reforestation and reclamation.
