The Balangan Youth Organization (Karang Taruna) emerged as overall champion of the 34th South Kalimantan Karya Bakti Wisata Karang Taruna (KKBWKT or the Youth Organization Work Service Tour) Camp held in Gedambaan Beach attraction, Kotabaru District.
"Thank to mutual solidarity among villages youth organizations and participation of all boards, Balangan Youth Organization together making the best efforts," said Chair of Balangan Youth Organization Ardiansyah here, Monday.
He expressed his gratitude to the District Government of Balangan, PT Adaro Indonesia and Balangan Coal for their support.
He also thanked village heads throughout Balangan for their budget assistance, so that village youth organizations could take part in the KKBWKT from preparation to selection of Balangan representatives for the competitions.

Ardiansyah said Balangan won several competition at the KKBWKT in Kotabaru, namely first champion in handicraft competition, first place in tracking frienship, second in video content, second in karta fashion, third in tug or war, third in karang taruna fashion, and first in karaoke.
Regent of Kotabaru Sayed Jafar said it was a happiness and pride to host the 34th South Kalimantan Karya Bakti Wisata Karang Taruna Camp as a gathering place of Youth Organizations, who are agents of change and potential leaders in the future.
"I hopes the work service tour camp of Karang Taruna will strengthen friendhsip, communication and interaction among Karang Taruna throughout South Kalimantan and improving the quality character of the youth who will hold strategic position, especially in Kotabaru," he said.
The camp, which took place at the Gedambaan Beach attraction, attended by Karang Taruna boards and activists from 13 districts and cities in South Kalimantan, 62 representatives of Social Affairs Office, 25 PKT of districts and cities, 2,759 participants and totally there were 3,068 people attending.
