Batulicin, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Tanah Bumbu spreads 450 police and agencies epmployees to cope with the haze disaster caused by land and forest fires (karhutla) in the local area.


The Police Chief AKBP Kus Subiantoro in Batulicin on Tuesday said members and SKPD (related agencies) distributed to all sub-districts. They were tasked to deal with and prevent catastrophic fires.

Fire disaster management is not solely the government and related agencies, but it is the duty and our collective responsibility between the public, private and governmental, he said.

According to him, there are several level to be done to tackle fire, namely pre-emptive by optimizing the dissemination of prohibition, legal sanctions or the impact of the fire through the installation of banners and billboards about the ban and intimation of regional police chief.

Then carry out monitoring patrol of prone areas to forests and land fire with reference of BMKG data.

Furthermore, at the level of law enforcement to take firm action against the perpetrators of forest and land fires up to judicial process in accordance with legislation in force and innovate fire countermeasures.

But most important is handling of forest fire by encouraging the whole society to be together with police and local authorities to safeguard the environment by not burning land and forest for any purpose.

"Let all the people together to initiate action against forest and land fires optimally, both in its pre-emtive, preventive and enforcement to minimize the behavior of forest and land fires by individuals and groups," he said.

Vice Regent of Tanah Bumbu H. Sudian Noor added, in the handling of fire hand in hand and work together especially the people who own land not to clear land and forests by burning.
