Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - South and Central Kalimantan electricity system returned to normal after the unit 1 powe plant of PLTU (steam-fueled power plant) Asam-Asam operates as usual.

"The disturbance of control system on unit 1 Asam-Asam power plant has been resolved, so the plant is operating again," said General Manager of PT PLN Region South and Central Kalimantan Purnomo in Banjarbaru, Friday.

Purnomo, who was accompanied by PR Bayu Aswenda, said the disruption in the power plant control system successfully repaired by several experts specialized on electrical controls and instruments.

He explained that the interference with the control system caused the main valve supplier of steam into the turbine can not operate, so that the power plant stopped operating.

"Once the repairment was completed in Thursday (23/4) afternoon, the power plant operated from a central control room and in the evening at 19:30 pm the electrical system back to normal," said Bayu.

According to him, the results of research done in the laboratory of Toshiba Japan showed the control system hardware is generally still in good condition. However to solve the problem of the main valve turbine not responding from central control room needed hardware replacement called "card control".

"The replacement of hardware was already done, so that the operational power plant unit 1 can be normal after June 13, 2016 have been distrupted," he said.

Disturbances on the South and Central Kalimantan electricity system caused blackouts in some areas after the unit 1 plant could not operate.

After inspection it turned out there was interference in control system, so that the power plant could not operate and caused 50 Mega Watts defisit of electric power since Monday (13/6).

"We bring in experts and instrument control fom Java-Bali Power Plant (PJB), PLTU Suralaya, Gresik, Tanjung Jati Jepara and experts from the manufacturer," he said.

Even PLTU Pulang Pisau Unit 1 power plant, which would still undergo the inspection process, since Sunday (19/6) had to be operated to ovecome the deficit of power.

"Actually, South and Central kalimantan electricity condition was not in deficit since Sunday as the Pulang Pisau Power Plant Unit 1 operates, but interference on unit 1 power plant Asam-Asam  caused the deficit," he said.
