Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Banjarmasin city government fights to defend its local regulation No.32/2013 on alcoholic beverage trade levy or known as Perda Miras not to be deleted by the Interior Ministry.
"Perda Miras is one of our local regulations that recommended by the Ministry of Interior to be removed. We will strive not to be," said Head of Legal Department of Banjarmasin city government Lukman Fadlun on Tuesday.
According to him, the city authorities had sent a letter to the Interior Ministry, or the law department, and the Director General of the Regional Autonomous to revisit the recommendation to abolish the regulations, one of which is liquor regulation.
"We hope it is not removed, but can be revised parts that are considered contrary to government policy," he said.
The new regulation of Trade Minister on alcoholic beverages may be traded by supermarket, while in the local legislation only in certain places, namely three to five star hotel, a restaurant with a special mark, nightclubs with the permission of the mayor.
Lukman stated in Law No. 23/2014 on local government, every local regulation made must adapt to the characteristics of the local community.
"As we are included in the autonomous region, local charge must be a priority. It means positive and negative must be studied very well," he explained.
Members of the Commission II Banjarmasin Legislative Council M Faisal said Regulation No. 32/2013 on Alcoholic Beverages Trade Levies should not be revised, and even removed, as it is well for maximum control of the circulation of beverages in this area.
According to him, the religious city of Banjarmasin which is known to be awake from the circulation of beverages that is considered haram for Muslims. "Because of the characteristics of our society strongly oppose the presence of alcohol, it has been enough given in certain places," he said.
