The Tanah Bumbu Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) urged residents, especially those living on the coastal area, to stay on alert against tidal flooding or rising seawater to the land.

"The rob flooding has the potential to occur in several sub-districts, including Kusan Hilir, Sungai Loban, Angsana, and Satui," said the BPBD Head Sulhadi in Batulicin, Sunday.

The four sub-districts are coastal areas, so the surrounding community needs to increase their alertness of tidal flooding and wave.

Sulhadi suggested the form of prevention should be taken to avoid various bad potential during rob flooding.

These include evacuating yourself dan your family to a higher or safer place, preparing equipment needed during evacuation, such as flashlights, matches, and other emergency tools.

Prepare dry or instant food, use boots and gloves, and ready medicine to perform firt aid.

"By knowing the preparation to be made, it is hoped that we can avoid injuries and fatalities during the flood," he explained.

According to Sulhadi, the rob flooding is predicted to occur in on week due to the phenomenon of the new moon phase or super new moon.

This phenomenon has the potential to increase the maximum tide height in coastal areas of South Kalimantan and have an impact on people activities and transportation around the ports and the cost.

"To anticipate the potential of disaster, BPBD urges all level of society to increase their viglance, especially when carrying out activities outside," said Sulhadi.
