Head of the Kotabaru Public Works and Spatial (PUPR) Office Suprapti Tri Astuti has consulted with the South Kalimantan Settlement Infrastructure Center (BPPW) in Banjarmasin to follow-up plan for the installation of sewerage treatment plant (IPLT) in the district.
"This is aim to reduce the risk of environmental pollution from the sewage sludge," said Suprapti Tri Astuti in Kotabaru, Saturday.
Her coordination with the BPPW was to design the IPLT system to be built in Sebelimbingan Village, by reviewing the level of public service according to the applicable requirements and technical standards.
"This year's work is budgeted at IDR8.5 billion, (and) this IPLT to serve three sub-districts," she said.
The IPLT, she expounded, will accomodate fecal waste from the sub-districts of Pulau Laut Utara, Pulau Laut Sigam, and Pulau Laut Tengah.
The goal is to reduce environmental pollution due to fecal waste while at the same time creating clean, healthy, and comfortable urban environment.
She pointed out that the agency continues to improve sanitation services as one of the basic services to community in an effort to improve the quality of clean environment.
"We also consulted regarding the plan for adding the house connection for the Rampa Village Wastewater Treatment Plant (IPAL) in Pulau Laut Utara sub-district," she said.
Rampa Village, which has received the Integration Special Allocation Fund from the state budget (APBN) has constructed a commmunal scale septic tank for every 25 families which were built in 2021.
"In 2023 there will be further development in the form of installing direct connection to the house and building latrines," she expounded.
For the Rampa area, the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) with a state budget of approximately IDR48 billion through BPPW South Kalimantan in 2021-2022 had carried out area management through the quality improvement of slum settlements of the coastal area.
