Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - The environmentalist Forum Komunitas Hijau (Green Community Forum) Banjarmasin prepared 1,000 trees for greening action in different locations.


200 seedlings of which were distributed for free in front of the campus of the University of Lambung Mangkurat (Unlam) Banjarmasin.

The trees are, in addition distributed to the people who need them, said FKH Field Coordinator Zany Talux here on Thursday, mostly planted for reforestation by FKH members themselves. The action was held in a green open space (RTH) owned by PDAM Banjarmasin at Jalan Pramuka.

At this location actually 200 greening trees had also been planted in their previous action in the form tree bintaro, trambesi, tanjung, and sugar palm trees.

"We want the PDAM's RTH  really green as works of FKH for this location as a habitat of various animals, bags of oxygen and absorbing pollutants area," said Zany Talux.

Besides, he added, tree seedlings will also be planted in the area around football field at Jalan Kayu Tangi, RTH Unlam, and several more locations that are considered necessary to be greened in Banjarmasin City.

He mentioned a thousand seedlings prepared were trambesi, mahogany, banana, jengkol, tamarind trees, and more.

FKH Banjarmasin is an organization fully supports the Government's commitment to make this city as green city in the country. That why FKH aggressively planting trees, cleaning rivers, cleanup environments, and had at least planted 3,000 palms trees, trambesi, then Rambai padi as mangrove plants to resist abrasion of the river, in addition to planting ornamental trees.
