Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Banjarbaru Sector Police securing dozens cars of variety brands as evidences of embezzlement.


Chief of Banjarbaru Resort Police AKBP Harun Yuni Aprin here on Monday said that as many as 25 cars of evidence were recovered.

"Actually, the number of evidences are 26 cars, but one car is still being sought, so that 25 cars were secured," he said, accompanied by Banjarbaru Sector Police Chief AKP Ana Setiani.

According to him, the dozens cars were evidence of acts of embezzlement by the accused FN through mortgaging.

The modus operandi of the suspect was receiving car from the owners who entrusted their cars to be rented to others, but it turns out he mortgaged them.

During three months from December 2015 he did it and cars owners believed him for knowing the suspect has a car rental business.

"Their deal was suspect pay rent every month to every owner, but it got stuck and the cars were mortgaged by the suspect to other people," said Chief Police.

Amount of pawn money of each car ranging from Rp20 million to Rp35 million and the money has been used for spree with the lifestyles of the wealthy.

"The crime money used by suspect for spree and the case was revealed after his brother AN reported the initials sister for not paying the rent a car," said Chief of Police.

"For resident whose car was leased to suspects and now become evidence may be coming to Banjarbaru Police headquarters to check the car," he said.

Sector police chief AKP Ana Setiani added, the suspect FN violating Article 378 of the Criminal Code of sub 372 on fraud and embezzlement of property of others.
