Batulicin, South Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalimantan) - Tanah Bumbu District Government began to prepare for floods since the high intensity of rainfall in recent weeks.


Vice Regent H Sudian Noor when observing the inundated residential areas in Batulicin on Monday said that the puddle overflowed into most homes forced occupants to secure their belongings to avoid puddles.

"I have coordinated with related agencies to prevent damage to infrastructure or public facilities due to the overflow of water," he said.

He said the most severe conditions due to the overflow of water was in the village of Salimuran, Kusan Hilir Subdistrict, and resulted one of the roads damaged by flood water.

Damage to roads made worse because there is no embankment construction which resulted in the overflow potentially damage the road.

Sudian Noor asked the head of Public Works to immediately send the material to make a dike at the same time elevating the road.

In addition to reviewing the flood-prone locations, he also urged people to continue to be alert to the floods, rain continue to rise, potentially causing flash flooding.

Head of the Tanah Bumbu Disaster Management Agency Mariani, through the Head of Disaster Preparedness and Prevention Abdul Rahim said it had prepared some personnel and disaster posts scattered throughout the district.

"The purpose of establishment of disaster posts is for natural disasters preparedness," he said.
