Batulicin, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Activities of flood-affected residents in Satui Sub-district, Tanah Bumbu, South Kalimantan, starting to recover as usual.
"The flooding in Satui last week has receded. The affectted people are now doing their activities as usual," said Head of Tanah Bumbu Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) Sulhadi in Batulicin, Tuesday.
Some of them were busy cleaning their houses from the remaining mud and rubbish after the flood. Some other going to offices to work, he said.
The floods that hit nine villages in the sub-district was after so high rain intensity that river flow was unable to accomodate water discharge coming from upstream.

The nine village affected by flood were Barakat Mufakat, Sinar Bulan, Beruntung Raya, Sungai Danau, Sejahtera Mulia, Sungai Danau Raya, Satu Timur, Makmur Mulia, Satui Barat. Here live 2,993 families or 9,773 people.
"Alhamdulillah (praise be to Allah), the flood has receded and people are carrying out their activities as usual. Hopefully there will be no subsequent (heavy) rain that causes flooding," hoped Sulhadi.
Meanwhile, health workers carry out health check by visiting residents' home to anticipate new outbreaks caused by flooding.
"If there is a complaint of illness, officers immediately provide free treatment. If the complaint is serious, then the person is recommended to be taken to community health center or hospital," said Sulhadi.
