Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Head of Banjarmasin Development Planning Board (Bappeda) Ir Nurul Fajar Desira CES revealed the city government has requested assistance of consultants from Netherlands to make up a master plan of drainage and river.


"Our request has already been responded by the Embassy of the Netherlands, even yesterday they had sent the secretary of the embassy and its expert consultants to the city government," he said here on Sunday.

According to Fajar, a world expert consultant input is necessary for the city to build the program in accordance with the drainage and river condition that can last for at least 20 years free of floodwaters.

"Consultant expert from the Netherlands are those who work in the Ministry of Public Works, so presumably it is expected inputs to the development of our city's future," he said.

Because, said Dawn, which has a unique Banjarmasin area by the number of active streams is 120 river can not be sought in common with other regional conditions in this archipelago.

"We've done studies to other areas, nothing is the same as the conditions of Banjarmasin. The city is full of rivers, the land is flat, and is under sea level, can not adopt a master plan other areas," he said.
