Kotabaru (Antaranews Kalimantan) - Kotabaru District began to take inventory of remote, outmost and underdeveloped villages to accelerate equitable development in the area known as "Bumi Saijaan".


Acting Assistant II of Kotabaru Administration H Akhmad Rivai here on Tuesday said based on the results of Geographical Difficulty Index (IKG) Studies and Regional Inequality in the district number of underdeveloped villages is about 46.

"While the very underdeveloped villages reaching 22 villages, spread over a number of sub-districts in Kotabaru," he said.

Seeing the conditions in the field, the number of underdeveloped, remote and outermost villages possibly bigger than IKG results conducted recently.

"But of course to establish underdeveloped, remote and outmost villages must based on the indicators," he said.

Rivai added, based on the list of the number of eligible villages as remote village is about 152 villages.

"If two villages in the district of North Pulaulaut are not included, the number of villages in Kotabaru potential to set into remote villages and underdeveloped is about 150 villages," he said.

Assistant of Kotabaru Public Administration H Kadri Said Husin added, sub-district head (camat) could provide arguments when the village mentioned is not feasible to set up as a remote village.

"Please, camat can refute or deny, if the village that we mentioned later is not feasible to set up as remote village, and give an explanation," pleaded Said.
