Marabahan, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - The Barito Kuala District Government formed self-sufficient food villages (desa mandiri pangan) in favor of increasing rice production in the area.


Secretary of the Barito Kuala Development Planning Board (Bappeda) Suhud in Marabahan on Tuesday said the program as an effort to support the central government's program to increase national rice production.

According to him, the importance of self-sufficient food villages in Barito Kuala (Batola), because this district is one of the food buffer area and should be maintained.

He pointed out, in a self-sufficient food village program, all relevant agencies will be directly involved. Public Works, for example, setting up road infrastructure, field drying, and others.

Personnel, Education and Training Agency, he said, preparing human resources.

In fact, he explained, the program to be discussed in the activities of the District Musrenbang (Regional Development Planning Forum) held from February 23, 2016.

Some key points to be addressed in Musrenbang, including the Village Fund Allocation (ADD) which has now reached Rp900 million per village from before about Rp600 million per village.
