Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Collection of animal species of crocodiles belong to Banjarmasin Zoo in Zahri Saleh Complex, Sungai Jingah, North Banjarmasin, today declared breeding.


Head of Banjarmasin Agriculture and Fisheries Agency Doyo Pudjadi revealed on Tuesday, crocodile in Banjarmasin Zoo is now spawning and will soon hatch.

"There are six eggs, this time we are incubating them in incubator to hatch safely," he said.

Zoo belongs to the municipality now has six adult crocodiles, and will be increased if the hatching eggs work well.

"This will be the first time crocodile in the zoo breeding, so we should be able to maintain the babies of this crocodile," said Doyo.

The hope is, he said, with the increase in the collection of animals in the zoo in a total area of ??about 1.5 hectares will add tourist attraction to visit.

In addition, Doyo said, the location will become a breeding research center as well as education about typical animals of this area, one of which the bekantan monkey.

He explained, in the zoo, there are ten zones, such as zone of reptile, primate zone, the zone of birds, fish zone and other zones.
