Pelaihari, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - The Tanah Laut Police secures 330 pieces of illegal ironwood and two owners, N and G, residents of Sarang Halang, Pelaihari.
"Beside securing ironwood and two owners, police secures two cars," said Police Chief AKBP Rizal Irawan through Satreskrim chief Ade Paparihi in Pelaihari, Wednesday (28/10).
According to him, the two cars used to transport illegal ironwood are Suzuki APV. One APV car contains 266 ironwood illegal and other car carrying 64 pieces of ironwood.
The ironwood based on the narrative of both the owner planned to be brought to Liang Anggang, Banjarbaru,
Both owners named as suspects and subject to Article 83 or Article 88 RI Law No.18/2013 on the Prevention and Eradication of forest destruction.
As for the penalty of the two owners of illegal ironwood, he explained, a minimum of one year and a maximum of five years in prison. They are subject to a fine of at least Rp500 thousand, and a maximum of Rp2.5 billion.
