Tanjung, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - A total of 16 villages in Tabalong District awarded a free defecation village or "open defection free" from the district administration, including assistance Rp5 million per village.


Coordinator of Health Affairs of Adaro Bangun Negeri Foundation (YABN) Erma Hariatmi in Tanjung Wednesday said heads of the villages also read ODF declaration which containing five statements.

"This year 16 villages free of defecation and read out the ODF declaration as a statement supporting the sanitary quality improvement program that can emulate other villages," said Erma.

The ODF villages are Padangin, Takulat, Pudak Setegal, Pasar Panas, Warukin, Pulau Ku`u, Tamiyang, Puain Kiwa, Bungin and Rukam 1.

Including Kasiau Raya village, Maburai, Sulingan and Kinarum have also been designated as ODF village through Community Based Total Sanitation program (STBM) carried out by YABN.

ODF declaration read out held at Tanjung Town Park as a series of activities of Festival Dangsanak Adaro II led by representative of Warukin Village, Sub-district of Tanta, Iderus.

The Declaration of ODF attended by Deputy Director of YABN Ignatius Iryanto, Acting Head of Women Empowerment Agency, Child Protection and Family Planning Agency Hormansyah, representatives of PT Adaro Indonesia and partners, Komunitas Dangsanak Adaro, YABN Management and sub-district heads in Tabalong District government.
