The South Hulu Sungai (HSS) District Government, which keeps on striving to expedite vaccination, offers various door prizes, including a motorcycle, to attract citizens to participate in the COVID-19 vaccination.

HSS Regent H Achmad Fikry in Kandangan said that his government provides prizes for people who take part in the vaccination.

“To excite the HSS community, we provide prizes that will be drawn by December 30, 2021. The prizes include motorcycle, bicycles, refrigerators, washing machine, gas stove, and others," he said recently.

He explained if the target is achieved as of December 30, 2021, then the prized will be drawn and is expected to encourage people to be vaccinated.

This is also to implement the direction of President Joko Widodo in a virtual meeting with the regents throughout Indonesia that the Omicron variant of coronavirus has entered Indonesia, thus the public is expected to be disciplined in applying health protocols.

“We have checked the hospital's readiness in case that happens, they must be ready both Brigjend H. Hasan Basry Hospital and Daha Sejahtera Hospital. There must be a special quarantine place, sufficient beds and oxygen, and health workers on standby. Of course, we hope that doesn't happen,” he said.

He asked all HSS government employees (ASN) to assist and approach people who have not been vaccinated, speaking on facts in the field that there are targets that must be achieved, in the next 10 days.

All ASN from Echelon II, III, and IV are obliged to help the community, the village government to escort its residents to be vaccinated, with full support from TNI (military) and Polri (police).

"So, for the next 10 days there will be no day without vaccination, of course, we have to make a good approach and the vaccines must be available,” he said.

He added that mask raids will be enforced. He appealed to the people to always wear masks when leaving the house.
