As many as 353,000 of the city residents have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine, said Head of Banjarmasin Health Office Machli Riyadi.
This is equivalent to 68.51 percent of the total 516,000 targets in the provincial capital of South Kalimantan.
"Exactly as many as 353,565 people have received the first dose to this day," said Machli Riyadi.
Meanwhile, 268,000 people or 51.95 percent have received the second dose COVID vaccine and 5,584 people, especially health workers, have received the third dose.
According to Machli Riyadi, 95.94 percent of the first dose and 70.77 percent of the second dose has been achieved by teenagers, whose target was 60,689 people.
"Vaccination for the elderly is still low, because it has only reached 35 percent of the first dose of the target of 45,657 people," he said.
"We continue to intensify mass vaccination until we can reach 80 percent by the end of the year," he said.
Machli Riyadi reminded residents not to slow down in applying health protocols, although they already got a COVID vaccine jab.
The total case of COVID-19 in Banjarmasin was 15,868, some 15,316 patients had recovered, and 544 people died. The active cases only left 4 people.
