Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - A total of 30 employees of prison and officers of penitentiary detention (Rutan) South Kalimantan Regional Office of Kemenkumham took part in shooting training at the National Police School (SPN).


"This is an activity of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham) South Kalimantan which continues to inovate in improving the performance and skills of prisons/detention employees and officers," said Head of Regional Office of Kemenkumham Yunaedi in Banjarmasin on Monday.

He said the shooting exercise was to improve the ability of officers to use weapons. They were given theoretical training using a short and long barreled firearm and practice in shooting.

The training activities followed by Kemenkumham Head Office Yunaedi, Chief of Administration Division Kemas Hamzah Zain and Head Division of Corrections Harun Sulianto. The activity was accompanied by Chief of South Kalimantan Regional Police's SPN AKBP Ebet and boards.

SPN Head AKBP Ebet said the use of firearms may only be to protect human life and should only be used when faced with exceptional circumstances.

Exceptional circumstances is it in them to defend themselves from the threat of death or serious injury, to defend others against the threat of death or serious injury as well as prevent the occurrence of serious crimes or threatening others.

The use of firearms is also intended to restrain, prevent or stop a person who is or will commit actions that endanger lives and handle life-threatening situations, when the measures are not enough softer.
