Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Acting Governor of South Kalimantan Tarmizi Abdul Karim stated handling of the landslide in the province should be immediate.


Tarmizi, who is also Inspector General of the Ministry of the Interior, stated that here on Monday related to avalanche path in Nagara, South Hulu Sungai District, at dawn on Sunday (30/8).

The reason, according to former acting governor of East Kalimantan (Kaltim), if not immediately handling the avalanche path not only can disrupt transport but could also has an impact on other development.

"Therefore the relevant agencies should plan handling of the avalanche path," said the former regent of North Aceh, Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam (NAD), after the plenary session of DPRD South Kalimantan.

But, he added, handling the avalanche path to rigorously through a more thorough study, not carelessly, so that this work can be useful with a relatively long time.

"We want to repair or handling of the avalanche path can last longer if it is the only way, with no other alternative. But if there is another alternative, then we have to relocate," said Tarmizi.

Members of DPRD H Riswandi of the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) also confirmed, it seems there is no other way to handle the avalanche in Nagara, except with the repair.

Landslides that occurred in Nagara (162 kilometers north Banjarmasin) reaches 75 meters and is located at the river mouth.

In addition to the road in Nagara, earlier in Margasari (117 kilometers north Banjarmasin) Tapin, road landslides also occurred ahead of Eid al-Fitr 1436 AH ago.
