The Banjarmasin City Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) reported that rob tidal flooding due to La-Nina was widespread in the city.

Head of BPBD Fahruraji here on Thursday said that based on field observation in predawn the high tide continued to cause the inundation to residential areas.

"There are 15 points that we observe with varying inundation depth," he said.

He acknowledged that more inundation points were monitored than the previous days. Last Wednesday they were only 11 points.

"The overflowing river water has swamped the sub-districts of South Banjarmasin, West Banjarmasin, Central Banjarmasin, and parts of North Banjarmasin," he said.

Fahruraji said the 14 points were monitored to experienced inundation. In South Banjarmasin were on Jalan 9 Oktober, Pekauman Urban Village, with a water level of 10-15 cm, on Jalan Keramat (Kubah Basirih), Basirih Urban Village, 10-20 cm.

"Also on Jalan Kelayan B, Kelayan Timur Urban Village, with a water level of about 10-20 cm," he said.

In West Banjarmasin it occurred on Jalan Jafri Zamzam, Belitung Selatan Urban Village, with a water level of 10-20 cm, on Jalan Pembangunan Ujung, Kuin Cerucuk Urban Village, the water was as high as 20-25 cm.

Then on Jalan Kuin, Kuin Selatan Urban Village 10-20 cm, on Jalan Simpang Anem, Belitung Utara Urban Village, 20-30 cm, Jalan Cendrawasih, Belitung Selatan Urban Village, 10-20 cm.

On Jalan Sutoyo S Gg.20, Teluk Dalam Urban Village, 10-15 cm, on Jalan Teluk Tiram, Teluk Tiram Urban Village, 10 cm and on Jalan Belitung Gg.Tunas Baru, Belitung Selatan Urban Village, 10-25 cm.

In Central Banjarmasin on Jalan Rawasari, Citra Sari Complext, Teluk Dalam Urban Village, the water level was 10-15 cm, and on Jalan Antasan Kecil Barat (Kampung Arab), Pasar Lama Urban Village, about 10-20 cm.

While in North Banjarmasin, said Fahruraji, it occurred on Jalan Pangeran, Pangeran Urban Village, with a water level 20-30 cm, and on Jalan Sungai jingah, Sungai jingah Urban Village, 30-40 cm.

BPBD, he said, deployed one unit of rescue car to monitor the points and was assisted by joint volunteers and local residents.

"The steps taken are to appeal residents, periodic monitoring, and alertness of water fleet," he said.

"This tidal flood has the potential to continue to rise, so residents are asked to be vigilant," he said.
