The Ministry of Environment and Forestry (LHK) has named the City of Banjarmasin and more than a dozen of its urban villages as the winners of the climate village program (Proklim).

Mayor H Ibnu Sina at the City Hall on Tuesday said that the greenhouse gas-friendly village program as the forerunner of a climate village in the city received appreciation from the LHK Ministry.

Today, he said, the ministry gave at least 16 awards and certificates of appreciation for the Banjarmasin climate village program.

"I received the awards directly from LHK Minister Siti Nurbaya through video conference," he said.

The award he received was an appreciation for the city/district level in climate program development.

The main category award was given to Sungai Jingah Urban Village, North Banjarmasin Sub-district.

While 14 urban villages received the Proklim certificate for the main category, they were Belitung Selatan, Kuin Cerucuk, Teluk Tiram, Basirih Selatan.

Then Kelayan Selatan, Pekauman, Teluk Dalam, Banua Anyar, Pemurus Luar, Sungai Bilu, Alalak Selatan, Kuin Utara, Sungai Miai, and Sungai Andai.

Ibnu Sina hopes that the climate management in the city to not stop after receiving the award or appreciation but to be transmitted to other urban villages that are not included in the program.
