Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - Forum Komunitas Hijau (FKH) Banjarmasin sowing betok fish seeds or pepuyu as much as 18 kilograms as conservation efforts in the Army Gatot Subroto housing complex pool on Tuesday.


Vice Chairman of FKH Banjarmasin Muhammad Ary in the location of fish seed sowing described to Antaranews Kalsel that the activity as a support to the program "clean river" initiated by the Government of Banjarmasin.

"The program can be economically value if in a river or pond sowed with seeds of fish," said the man who is familiarly called Ary.

But he does not restrict certain types of fish. It can be various types of fish that easily live in nature such as catfish, tilapia, catfish, especially fish damselfish. In the province of South Kalimantan until now damselfish fish (betok) prices are still expensive, and can be rare because it depends on the season.

"Imagine if the river along Jalan Ahmad Yani has many damselfish, then the people who like fishing do not need to go far to the fields," said Ary excited.

According to Ary, FKH will respectively release thousands of betok seed again in some places like in front of the Darma Praja complex Km 4.5, in front of TVRI Banjarmasin and others.

The seeds contributed voluntarily by members of FKH Banjarmasin in turns or of related government agencies as well as private citizens.
