The number of patients recovered from coronaVirus disease or COVID-19 in Kotabaru District, South Kalimantan, continues to increase and has reached 2,737.

A member of Kotabaru COVID-19 Task Force, who is also Head of Communication and Informatics Agency Rahardiyan, through the Head of Public Communication and Coding Hj Nahar Suriana, said on Monday that patients declared recovered added by 12 to bring the total to 2,737.

On the same day, Kotabaru added the fresh case of COVID-19 by six bringing the total case in "Bumi Saijaan" (Kotabaru's nickname) to 2,974.

Currently, 105 patients are being treated at the Kotabaru General Hospital, Stagen Hospital Kotabaru, Suaka Insan Hospital in Banjarmasin, and other hospitals.

Some 56 people were undergoing self-isolation at home. Kotabaru also recorded 132 people died because of COVID-19.

Meanwhile, Deputy Speaker of Assembly Council (DPRD) Muhammad Arif appealed to the public to continue to comply with health protocols amidst the implementation of level 4 public activity restriction (PPKM).

"People should not go anywhere if it's not important. Don't do activities that cause crowds, such as wedding celebrations or others," he said.

His appeal was considering that the South Kalimantan Provincial Government, especially Kotabaru, has been implementing PPKM level 4 as an effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
