Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan (Antaranewskalsel) - Deputy of Library Material Development and Information Services of the National Library Welmin Sunyi Ariningsih said reading interest in South Kalimantan is nice.


"We see  South Kalimantan reading interest has been good and is expected to increase," she said in Banjarbaru on Friday on the sidelines of a visit to the Office of Library and Regional Archives.

She said the high interest in reading can be seen from the interest of the public in the activities related to books and other reading materials. One of them, the book fair held by South Kalimantan provincial government in the Suriansyah Sultan building Banjarmasin.

"While attending the opening of the book fair on Thursday (28/5), we see the public interest is high and many who came to visit the exhibition," she said.

According to her, in addition to the exhibition, a high interest can also be seen from the level of public visits to the library. For example, to Library and Archives Banjarbaru at Jalan Wijaya Kusuma.

"The number of library visitors per day up to 300 people have been very nice. It is hoped could be increased again so that the higher interest in reading," she said.

Head of Library and Regional Archives Banjarbaru Nurlianie said, the number of visitors to the library in a day ranges from 200 to 300 people.
