The District Government of Tanah Bumbu, South Kalimantan, has built some checkpoints as a follow-up of the implementation of level 4 community activity restriction (PPKM) from August 10 to 23, 2021.

"The implementation of the level 4 PPKM is based on the circular of the Ministry of Home Affairs No. 31 of 2021 regarding COVID-19," said the Tanah Bumbu COVID-19 Task Force spokesman Ardiansyah in Batulicin, Thursday.

The checkpoints, he said, are built in Simpang Empat sub-district, precisely in Ampar Village, which borders Kotabaru District.

Then in Mentewe Sub-district, also speedboat pier, Samudra seaPort, Ferry Port of Batulicin, and other ports in Tanah Bumbu.

"The purpose of the blockade is to restrict the mobility of people who want to go in or out of Tanah Bumbu," he said.

The COVID-19 Task Force also instructed the village government to respectively prepare an isolation house for residents who are exposed to COVID-19.

"The budget is prepared from the village fund that has been refocused by eight percent," he said.

Then, each sub-district is obliged to prepare an isolation place to help if the isolation house in the village is full.

"There were 98 additional cases of COVID-19 in Tanah Bumbu during August 1-9, 2021 to bring the total to 4,854 cases," he said again.

Of these cases, 3,563 people have recovered, 1,114 are still being treated, and 177 died from COVID-19.

"To reduce the number of COVID-19 cases, we ask the public to comply with health protocols by applying 5 M, namely washing hands, wearing masks, maintaining distance, avoiding crowds, and reducing mobility," said Ardiansyah.
