Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Head of the Banjarmasin Regional Environmental Agency (BLHD) Hamdi assured that the city has a big opportunity to win Adipura Award 2015.


He said on Tuesday that the municipal government efforts to push cleanliness and environmental greening program make the capital of South Kalimantan keep increasing its value in Adipura assessments.

He said he got a leakage in second stage assessments (P2) that Banjarmasin has a higher score for Puskesmas (community health center) by 85 point or more. While its TPA (landfill) Basirih also has a significant leap in assessments.

"If the health center obtained the highest value, while landfill can increase the value I believe it is because it can contribute biogas to the community and also its improvement of the environment is better now," said Hamdi.

He also reviewed the terms of the environment in this region, which continues to progress in sanitation and greening program, where the government is quite succeeded in changing the face of the city which used to be very untidy now more organized.

"Greening everywhere, so do the market and terminal now with reforestation, especially in the protocol," he said.

According to Hamdi, the object of the Adipura assessment is 75 percent related to environmental hygiene. The remaining 25 percent is related to water and air.
