Amuntai, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - The transformation of agricultural land to non-agricultural threaten the food self-sufficiency program in North Hulu Sungai, an official said.


Head of the North Hulu Sungai (HSU) Planning Board Fajeri Rifani in Amuntai on Wednesday said the biggest challenge is to maintain the food self-sufficiency in the midst of productive agricultural land conversion into non-agricultural.

"The transformation of land due to high demand and weak enforcement against agricultural land conversion," he said.

Gradually, if not addressed, productive farmland shrinking and threaten the survival of food self-sufficiency in the HSU who have gained with difficulty.

District Government seeks to minimize the conversion of agricultural land through the issuance of local regulation number 12 of 2012 on Spatial Plan (RTRW) 2012-2032 with a pattern which divides the Protected Areas and Aquaculture Areas.
