Mayor H Ibnu Sina accepted the program, which was initiated by the provincial government through the South Kalimantan Environment Agency (DLH).
South Kalimantan DLH wants to collaborate the program with the vision and mission of the city government in managing river, especially the Martapura River.
The city government makes the Martapura River a tourist destination, said Ibnu Sina, so it needs to synergize with the provincial government's program for river sustainability.
He emphasized that the beautiful Martapura River program combined with the Banjarmasin Bungas program is very important not only in the economic sector, but it will revive the spirit of the river that is beginning to disappear.
"We are ready to cooperate, and ready to allocate, including to prepare perceptions related to the Martapura River management with the Sungai Martapura Bungas program," said Ibnu Sina.
Meanwhile, Head of DLH Hanifah Dwi Nirwana said Sungai Martapura Bungas program, which is implemented by the central government, is aimed to preserve the environment.
Martapura River, he said, is a fairly large river that spans several districts and cities. The river is very important for the life of the people in the province.
"It has a role for tourism as well as to support river transportation between regions," he said.
