Banjar Regent Saidi Mansyur launched Martapura Maju, Mandiri dan Agamais (Manis) program which is the embodiment of his vision and mission for leading the district for the next five years.

"Martapura Manis is a strategic development project as an economic recovery strategy through developing Martapura urban as a meeting point in South Kalimantan," said Saidi at the launch at the Mahligai Sultan Adam Martapura building, Monday.

He said that togetherness is needed to realize the project, one of which is the development of Murung Kenanga slum area into a liveable residence, so it will become a pilot in the future.

"We hope all stakeholders support Martapura Manis, until the development to the structured and measurable economic recovery will be realized," said the regent.

At the lauch, Head of Development Planning, Research and Development Agency (Bappeda Litbang) Galuh Tantri Narindra explained the Martapura Manis project.

Banjar Regent Saidi Mansyur and the Head of Bappeda Litbang then signed the MoU. Then a joint commitment to economic recovery was made, which was also followed by the heads of government working units (SKPD).

The event was followed by a weekly coordination meeting led by the District Secretary M Hilman, attended by the Regent, Deputy Regent, heads of SKPD, and director of the district-owned company.

The meeting discussed the emergency PPKM implemented in West and East Kalimantan, so it is possible to be applied in Banjar District.

In addition, it discussed Idul Adha prayer which will still be held in places of worship but must implement health protocols that must be adhered by the pilgrims to avoid from COVID-19.
