Residents in four villages in Salam Babaris Sub-district, Tapin District, South Kalimantan, donated land for building 3.149 kilometers in the 111th TMMD program in Tapin District.

"People in four villages have agreed to donate their land for road construction," said Head of Salam Babaris Sub-district Ahmad, Wednesday. 

The road, which has a width of about seven meters, connected the four villages, namely Salam Babaris, Pantai Cabe, Suato Lama, and Suato Baru. 

"This road connects to the road that was built in the 2019 TMMD in this sub-district," he said. 

The right and left sides along the road are rubber plantations owned by residents in Salam Babaris. 

"There are hundreds of hectares of rubber plantation owned by the residents over there. The impact of road-building in addition to facilitating people mobility it helps the local economy," he said.

Nine days after the opening of the 111th TMMD, the construction of the road has reached more than 30 percent. 

"The fixed target is 30 days must be completed, not only the road construction, but also house renovation, musholla (prayer place) renovation, and renovation of security post must be completed," said the Commander of the TMMD SSK (Company Level Unit) Capt. Inf. Asep at the location. 

The opening of the road was initiated by the community submission during the village-level development planning forum (musrenbang). It then proceeded to the sub-district and continued to the district level.

"From the district level forum then I was asked by the Tapin regent to carry out the 111th TMMD here. Please note that in implementing this TMMD we synergize with the police," he explained.

The 111th TMMD began on June 15 and ends on July 14, 2021, marked by the signing and handover of MoU from Tapin Regent to Dandim 1010/Tapin.

The 101/Antasari (Provincial) Military Chief of Staff (Kasrem) Col.Inf. M. Sujono hopes that the TMMD with the theme "TMMD as a Synergy to Build the Country" can improve the community's economy. 

"By building this road can help the local government to expedite the growth of people's economy," he said when attending the opening of the 111th TMMD ke-111 in Tapin, Tuesday.
