Martapura, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Regent Banjar Sultan Khairul Saleh wishes Sub-district of Gambut to be the center of trade, so it economy will be growing and growing.


According to regent, Gambut is known as the rice granary of South Kalimantan types of "Siam Unus" able to meet the needs of people of the province.

"Now, it's time for Gambut to become a center of trade in addition to granary of South Kalimantan, so the subdistrict area is growing and progressing," he said during a working visit to meet religious and community leaders in Gambut.

He explained, Gambut which is about 14 kilometers from Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan provincial capital, is a strategic region crossed by people or goods.

"If you want to Banjarmasin and other places in South Kalimantan is definitely crossing sub-district of Gambut, so its strategic location should be utilized optimally," he said.

According to him, at the end of his term of office as regent in August 2015, he wanted the society and area of Gambut to be more developed and thrive.

Camat or subdistrict head Ahmad Rabbani said that, during the two periods of regent leadership, a lot of infrastructure was built to benefit the community.
