Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of South Kalimantan has recorded 0.29 percent deflation of this province in March 2015.


"This is a joint deflation of Banjarmasin and Tanjung, the capital of Tabalong," said Head of Distribution Statistics of BPS South Kalimantan Arih Dwi Prasetyo at a press conference here on Wednesday.

He added, cumulative deflation rate in South Kalimantan in 2015 (March 2015 to December 2014) amounted to 0.12 percent, while year on year inflation stood at 7.00 percent.

Specifically, the "city of a thousand rivers" Banjarmasin deflation in March 2015 stood at 0.34 percent. 2015 cumulative deflation 0.13 percent and yoy inflation at 7.02 percent.

The highest share of deflation include chicken, eggs, snakehead fish, red peppers, and carrots.

While commodity price increases with the highest share of inflation, such as rice, petrol, red onion, household fuel, air transport, and rental houses.

In Banjarmasin, from seven expenditure groups, two of which decreased the price index namely foodstuffs 3.11 percent and clothing 0.26 percent.
