Amuntai, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - South Kalimantan Regional Development Planning Board (Bappeda) record levels of poverty in the district of North Hulu Sungai until 2013 high of around 6.92 percent of the total population of 209 thousand inhabitants.


Head of Statistics, Control and Evaluation of South Kalimantan Bappeda I Gede Suwardika here on Wednesday said that aside from the highest poverty rates, North Hulu Sungai (HSU) has a low Human Development Index (HDI).

"It was ranked 11th of the 13 districts and cities in South Kalimantan," said Suwardika.

Suwardika, who represented the head of planning agency in South Kalimantan Regional Development Planning Forum (Musrenbang) RKPD in Amuntai, hoping HSU District Government prioritize poverty reduction programs and an increase in the HDI in the preparation of the work program next year.

Head of HSU Planning Agency Fajeri Rifani said, in 2016 the district targets to remove the status of disadvantaged area.

He admits, economic growth in the HSU in the last three years is likely to slow down.
