The South Kalimantan Provincial Police mobilized 1,483 personnel in the 2021 Ketupat Intan Operation to prevent people from violating the ban on the lebaran (Idul Fitri) 2021 tradition of mudik (exodus).
"This year Ketupat Operation is more focused on preventing the flow of homecoming (mudik). Members are deployed to do insulation," said South Kalimantan Police Chief Insp.Gen. Rikhwanto in Banjarmasin, Friday.
In addition to taking action against people who receptive to go home, he said, the police also focused on preventing crowds that have the potential to occur during Ramadhan and lebaran.
Patrols at nights are increased targeting crowd points, such as cafes and the like. Any violation of health protocols found, officers will disperse.
"Please all of us obey what is the government's policy in an effort to break the spread of COVID-19," said the two stars general.
Rikhwanto reminded the 5M steps to always carry out to prevent the infection, namely wearing masks, washing hands, maintaining distance, avoiding crowds, and reducing mobility.
