The City Government of Banjarmasin agrees the Basirih final waste disposal to be used as an integrated waste processing site (TPAT) using Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF) technology.

"This is a good plan in the future for the development of Basirih landfill," said acting Mayor Akhmad Fydayeen at the City Hall, Tuesday.

He hopes the cooperation with the investor, PT Talenta Bumi Energy, will help to overcome the garbage problem in the city which is increasingly piling up.

In addition to producing alternative fuels to replace fossil fuels (coal), the development of the land will also result in improved environmental quality, as well as reducing the need for wasteland.

"The feasibility study will be carried out by our consultant in Jakarta. Hopefully to complete in three months. we came to Banjarmasin for a field survey, asking for data to synchronize regulations, so that private involvement can be realized in collaboration with the Banjarmasin government," said Project Coordinator of PT Talenta Bumi Energy Deny Setiawan.

Deny ensured that if the investment plan is realized, PT Talenta Bumi Energy would continue to engage and foster communities around the Basirih final disposal.
