Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - North Banjarmasin sub-district head Siti Hapsyah revealing, Banjarmasin city government through the local Highways Agency agreed to build infrastructure on the green open space of Sungai Gampa, a suburb of the city.

"In the meeting, the municipal government agreed to build road in the green open space as infrastructure for Sungai Gampa, but the width is only about two meters," he said on the sidelines of plenary session of Banjarmasin City assembly on Wednesday.

According to him, this is a solution of the polemics of the ban on building infrastructure in areas already listed in Spatial Planning(RTRW) Bylaw Draft Banjarmasin city as a green belt area or green space.

"If built four meters and drivable for four-wheeled vehicles then housing feared to be developed and this violates the Spatial regulation for an area of green belt," he explained.

He said that the road to be built in the area of green space will be passable only for two-wheeled vehicles. The road with concrete construction is scheduled to be budgeted in 2016.

There are as many as two residential neighborhoods live in this area of agriculture and orange groves.

"In fact I personally have helped and raise funds for the construction of concrete roads in residential areas there," he said.

Banjarmasin City Council member Zainal Hakim said it is important to build overland to settlements in the area of green space Sungai Gampa, because it has educational facilities and health center.
