Tanah Laut District, South Kalimantan, received an award certificate from the National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) for it performance and synergy in disaster management in the category of the district government, Wednesday (March 10, 2021).
"The award is (given) because the Tanah Laut District Government was considered nationally capable of building multi-sectoral and multi-stakeholder collaboration to reduce disaster risk," said Tanah Laut Regent HM Sukamta.
According to him, the participation of TNI (Armed Forces), Polri (Police), academicians, business community, volunteers, press, and the community had greatly assisted disaster handling in Tanah Laut.
"The national awards are given to 12 district and city governments and 13 provincial governments in Indonesia," he said.
