Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Banjarmasin was chosen as pilot site in overcoming the problem of slums in Indonesia.


Head of Banjarmasin city government Public Relations Kurnadiansyah told reporters here on Sunday, the target of zero percent of slums by 2019 would require a serious effort to comply. There should be acceleration of the process with innovative efforts and can move the entire party to jointly deal slums.

National Program for Slum Prevention 2015-2019 was designed to realize the collaboration between stakeholders in the management program rundown.

The program is expected to be implemented in the city of Banjarmasin which became one of the nine cities and districts that became pilot sites in Indonesia.

Mayor Banjarmasin H Muhidin at the launch of the national program in Jakarta said: "We are ready to support the national program 2015-2019 and became one of the pilot cities to achieve the target of 0 percent of slums, even the target of 100 percent of water services and the target of 100 percent sanitation."

This activity is expected to be an opportunity to increase the commitment of all parties concerned to jointly engaged in the management and prevention of slums in Indonesia, said Kurnadiansyah.
