South Kalimantan Governor Sahbirin Noor while monitoring various flood spots in Banjar District Tuesday predawn received a report that a mother needed a help that she was about to give birth.

The Governor, together with other officials, went stright to the mother's house in Tajau Landung Village, Martapura Barat Sub-district. In the dark of the night, he used his car to passing through the flooded road. 

As he arrived, Uncle Birin (the Governor's nickname) directly carried the mother to his car while reading salawat. “Hopefully you have smooth delivery and granted a shaleh (pious) child,” said Uncle Birin to the mother.

The woman was brought by a driver using the Governor's private car to the Ratu Zaleha Martapura Hospital. Uncle Birin adviced his driver to be careful to drive the car, considering the road was flooded. He could not accompany, because his car was already full loaded.

But he kept praying for the woman to have a smooth delivery. “We pray the woman easiness in giving birth,” he said.

He also invited all parties to work hand in hand in handling the flood disaster. “Whatever smaller the help will benefit those who affected by the flood disaster,” said Uncle Birin.

Governor expressed his gratitude for many assistance keeps coming from various parties for the flood victims and asked that the distribution to be smooth to reach the victims.
